Wilcox Rapunzel – Olive

The Wilcox Rapunzel has a little red glass bead at the head and two olive glass beads make up the eyes. Barred grizzly marabou for a tail and legs make up the rest of the Wilcox Rapunzel for a very fishy damselfly nymph that has been super popular and effective.  Hard to go wrong with this fly in late spring fished on a sinking line near the weedline.  We like to fish it with the marabou on the tail and legs area thinned way down by tearing the excess marabou off with your fingers.  The thinned out tail and wing/leg marabou seems to make the fly swim better and have a more realistic damsel nymph shape.
